Asia Injury Prevention Foundation (AIP) is an international non-governmental organization founded in Vietnam in 1999, later expanding to offices in China, Cambodia, and Thailand and conducts further programming in Myanmar and India. AIP Foundation envisions a world with zero road injuries and fatalities. They further envision a world where private corporations, government agencies, and the public sector collaborate to affect sustainable, positive changes in road safety policies and practices and where individuals are empowered and educated to make intelligent decisions about their safety and security while traveling on their communities’ roads. Through a range of programs spanning from training traffic officers to expanding safe walking areas on roadways, five overall tiers of their approach are supported, including: Communications for Change, Global and Legislative Advocacy, Targeted Education, Research, Monitoring and Evaluation, and Access to Safe Equipment. AIP has hosted PiA Fellows since 2008 and Fellows have worked on both communications and program development with activities such as report writing, monitoring and evaluation, proposal writing, and social media.
